On this page we list the terms and conditions to rent a car by ecorentacar.
- DRIVER AGE: The minimum age of the driver is 21 years with a maximum age of 75 years. From the age of 75 onwards, cars are rented with an additional charge and after consultation with our company.
- DRIVING LICENSE: The driver must hold a license for at least one year. His driving license must be Greek, European (for EU countries) or International (for non-EU countries).
- NECESSARY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS: For the rental of a car from our company, the renter-driver must have with him a valid driving license and his identity card or passport.
- FINES AND INFRINGEMENTS: All fines and administrative penalties arising from the driver’s fault are fully borne by the lessee.
- FUEL: The car must be returned with the same amount of fuel delivered as stated in the contract. There is no refund for extra fuel in the tank.
- TRANSPORTATION OUTSIDE THE ISLAND AND BOARDING ON A SHIP: It is forbidden to transport the car off the island as well as to board a ship without the written approval of our company.
- MINIMUM RENTAL: Minimum car rental is set at three days
- ADDITIONAL DRIVER: The first and second driver is free. There is an extra charge for a third driver.
- CHILD SEATS: Provided free of charge upon request and availability
- TAXES: All prices include VAT 24% according to the law.
- INSURANCE : Rental prices include the following insurance coverages:
1) Basic Insurance against Third Parties :
• Loss of life or bodily harm to third parties up to 1.000.000 euros
• Material damages of third parties up to 1.000.000 euros
2) Full Theft Insurance of the vehicle (No excess) (TPI) (Does not include personal belongings of the driver or passengers)
3) Complete Fire Insurance of the Vehicle (No excess) (FPI)
4) Personal accident insurance (PAI) : Covers the driver of the vehicle for death or personal injury up to the amount of 15.000 Euros.
5) Roadside Assistance: Covers the island of Kefalonia on a 24 hour basis!
*CAUTON! The insurance does not apply in the following cases as per below:
1. When the river is under the influence of alcohol, drugs
2. When the vehicle is driven by an unauthorized person
3. When the vehicle is driven off road
4. When the vehicle participates in speed races, or does not comply with the upper speed limits of local legislation.
5. When the vehicle engages in illegal activities
6. For damages inside of the vehicle
7. For damages caused intentionally
8. The loss or destruction of keys.
- DELIVERY – COLLECTION: Free of charge from the airport, port, the capital of the island as well as 15km around the mentioned. Delivery and pick up with charge is provided, throughout the island by appointment.
- WAY OF PAYMENTS: Accepted way of payment are cash and credit cards.
- RESERVATIONS / AVAILABILITY: All bookings are based on the vehicle category and not on a specific model. Our company reserves the right to change the model of the car with a similar or larger vehicle in special cases.
- CHARGE PER KILOMETER: Free kilometers from the first day of rental.
- WARRANTY: For car rental a guarantee is required, which ranges from 300€ -1500€ depending on the type of car. The amount of guarantee will be committed on the driver’s credit card, which will be refunded at the end of the rental (within 14 days), if no other extra charges occur.
